Başkonuş Yaylası was founded as a hatchery for deers in 1987, the deers were released to the nature years after. It is anticipated that the number of reproducing deers around the territory is approximately 250-300.

Başkonuş Yaylası became a special purpose entity in 2011 and has been managed by Erdoğanyılmaz family since.

The entrance of the plateau is designed as an A-type picnic area. It contains the Country Diner, Bungalow Forest Houses, Tent and Caravan Camping sites, picnic areas, sports grounds, playgrounds, activity grounds for ATV, horse riding and sledding, free animal garden and hiking trails. The construction for other facilities is still in progress.

The altitude of the accommodation area is around 1325 meters. It is stated by the experts that this height is appropriate for human health. Moreover, the combination of the oxygen produced by juniper, cedar and fir trees and the humid air coming from Mediterranean creates a healthy environment that will help your immune system become stronger. The guests are welcomed with the beauties of the plateau in both winter and summer months, and the beautiful remedial air.

For years, a lot of cancer patients have lived here as a doctor recommendation and got cured, and these cases are identified and perceptibly documented.

The first priority of the management of Başkonuş Plateau is to protect the animals hosted by the nature and the forest. The business looks after the fawns that are without mother and provides them with nutrition and care. After they complete their rehabilitation, they are released to the nature on the condition that they are ready to live without care. The animals whose health conditions are not available for living in the nature are being protected and taken care of for their whole lives.

The construction of our restaurant with the capacity of 1000 people that will bring you together with the local dishes of Kahramanmaraş is still in progress.

FOREST HOUSES: You can accommodate with the tranquility of being inside the nature for four seasons in the wooden bungalow houses that were designed considering all your needs.

TENT CAMPING SITE: You can camp with your own tent in the plateau where services like electricity, water, wc, shower and security are provided.

CARAVAN CAMPING SITE: You can camp with your own caravan in the plateau where services like electricity, water, wc, shower and security are provided, or you can rent a caravan that belongs to the business.

MARKET: You can shop from our market that was founded considering your needs.

PICNIC SITE: You can have a picnic in an area that has natural spring water together with colorful flowers and nature. In our picnic site, it is forbidden to light a fire by Regional Forest Directorate in order to prevent possible forest fires.

You can enjoy the city and Sır Barrage scenery in Başkonuş observation terrace road that was built within the scope of Ecotourism and has the most natural walking trails of the area.

You can live the experience of being above the clouds while enjoying the beautiful scenery by walking 4100 meters from the accommodation area to Başkonuş Pletaeu peak point (altitude of 1850 meters) . The trekking routes are defined by distance as short, long and middle. The guests can choose one of the options depending on their performance. On the road, you can encounter deers anytime and have unforgettable memories and pictures, accompanied by a finish point with the beautiful scenery of the barrage. It is possible to drop by Sersem Plateau at the altitude of 1650 before the peak and watch the places where the storks stop by on their migration journeys.
